Stephanie Knutson, Ed.D, MSN, RN, is an accomplished and recognized school nursing specialty and early care and education expert on the national, state, and local levels. She brings vast experiences in building staff capacity through statewide project leadership, educational leadership, and facilitation of policy and product development. She specializes in developing, coordinating, and implementing local, statewide, and nationwide professional development and training to staff and leaders in health, nursing, education, and public health settings.
Dr. Knutson served as the school health administrator and school nursing and health education consultant for the Connecticut State Department of Education. Additionally, she has worked in and with local school districts in a supervisory capacity for school health services, including school-based health clinics and school district dental programs.
Nationally, Dr. Knutson provides evidence-based tools, techniques, and trainings for Education Development Center (EDC). She successfully led EDC's accreditation process for achieving approved provider status in 2021, from the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
As a preferred trainer for Connecticut Nurses’ Association, Dr. Knutson develops, implements, and evaluates professional development opportunities for school nurses, school nurse supervisors, and early care and education programs (including family child care programs).
